No.14 Lovel St is a quiet place to relax and recharge in the beautiful Blue Mountains. Where guests come back to recharge after squeezing every last drop out of their day.

Welcoming guests since 1913 we operate as both for individual accommodation bookings, or as a private house rental, where you have exclusive use of the entire house. Click here for pics. We have shared facilities and comfy common areas

We acknowledge the Dharug, Gundungurra, Wanaruah, Tharawal, Darkinjung and Wiradjuri people are the traditional custodians of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. Always Was, Always Will Be Aboriginal land. We support the Uluru Statement from the Heart and a constitutionally enshrined First Nations Voice.

There's SO much to see and do in the Blue Mountains, we can't possibly include it all here - and even beyond the natural wonders! So much so that Annette wrote a book in 2022 about everything else there is to do up here, and why she doesn't miss Sydney (soz). Time Travel

Decades, thousands or millions of years...

The European settlement of the Blue Mountains included it being the playground of Sydney. The Carrington hotel, and Hydro Majestic are reminders of those days. Beautiful Art Deco features and restored grandeur. Vintage lovers love the Blue Mountains.

Of course, the Blue Mountains was and always will be Aboriginal land. As well as the iconic Three Sisters, you can see infamous history of The Gully in Katoomba, which has been returned to traditional custodians. Red Hands Cave in Glenbrook is another popular well-preserved example of the Aboriginal people's lives, going back thousands of years in Australia.

Jenolan Caves is a 'must do' day trip from Katoomba. It is the oldest known and dated open cave system in the world, around 340 million years old.

We have few chains and 'high street' stores in the Mountains. Emporiums of locals artisans include the Nook in Leura, Blue Mountains Makers in Wentworth Falls, Blackheath Creative. Each village has local designers and specialty shops like The Stray Whisker for men's grooming, and Whisk & Pin gourmet goodies, a little bit of everywhere at Omnia in Katoomba.

This is the perfect spot to recharge and relax after a busy day of exploring. We did not anticipate falling deeply in love with this beautiful hostel.

As avid hikers, No.14 was everything we didn’t know we needed. It was the perfect spot to recharge after long days of hiking while also being an incredibly cozy space to write and work in—which is not typically the case with most of the hostels we have stayed in before.

No.14 is a home away from home. My go-to whenever I'm in the Blue Mountains. I don't want to stay anywhere else so I arrange my holiday dates around what's available as it's worth it! The rooms are basic but extremely comfy and very toasty (especially in the Winter!). I usually travel with a medium rucksack and they are always good at making arrangements to keep it on the premises until I check in proper, which is really handy. It's always nice after a day's adventuring to snuggle up in the lounge areas with some wine, snacks and a cosy fire before adjourning to an even cosier bed.

No.14 Lovel St feels like a home away from home. It’s clean but cosy and Annette’s welcoming smile means you are quickly settled in. I don’t think I’ve ever had a better night’s sleep than when I’ve stayed at No14 and eating breakfast or dinner with the view from the verandah is priceless. Drying out your wet trail runners or boots by the fire after a day of adventures is a beautiful bonus.
