Coronavirus COVID-19 considerations

Please do not stay with us if you have any cold & flu symptoms, or any reason to believe you are at risk.

We are a COVID Safe registered business. All guests must be registered with full name and mobile contact number. This also applies for private full house bookings.

We have limited our five bed dorms to three, unless the booking is for one group of four or five.

We expect all guests to adhere to COVID safe etiquette in shared spaces.

We appreciate your co-operation and understanding of any further changes, which may be at short notice. 

If we are unable to accommodate you due to our business being closed, you will receive a full refund. 

Peace & quiet

We are a relaxed and quiet place to stay. There are no TVs or radios etc. on purpose. Please bring ear/headphones to stream music or other content online. 

Our house is a traditional weatherboard and not soundproofed. Definitely not a party hostel - do not stay here if you want to stay up late. All guests being considerate of others is essential, especially after 10pm. 

For full house private bookings, you may bring your own music system. However, noise restrictions still strictly apply after 10pm (11pm Fri/Sat), in respect of our neighbours.

No children - except for full house bookings

Children are welcome for private full house bookings

Experience has led to us keeping it simple and adults only for individual hostel bookings. This is not negotiable on arrival, and there'll be no refund if you choose to disregard this advice. Teenagers may be OK for private room bookings, BUT give us a call first.

Reception hours, check in & check out

Check in is from 2pm. We have limited reception hours. In order to give our guests the most flexibility for check in, we have set up the following three options. Please let us know which option you'd like so we can make sure arrangements are made as necessary. Occasionally our reception hours vary, so please let us know. If reception is closed, we are usually still available by mobile phone for our guests.

1. Bag drop 10-11am; it is unlikely that your room will be ready

2. Self check-in 2-5pm or after 8pm; we require payment, full name & contact number for all guests to do this

3. Evening check in 5-8pm, just show up.

Check out is 10am.

Bathroom, towels & laundry 

Unless you have booked our ensuite, you will use our large unisex bathroom which is downstairs. Please bring your own towels. We also have towels for hire by charity donation. Click here for a video of the bathroom and click here for a video of how far it is from the upstairs bedrooms.

We also have a washer/dryer for guests' use after 2pm daily, at additional cost.

For full house private bookings, laundry use and towels are included in your rental.

Breakfast & kitchen

We include a simple breakfast in our price: a choice of oats/muesli/cornflakes with milk (including soy), tea & instant coffee. 

Shared kitchen has gas stovetops, oven, microwave oven, rice cooker, pizza and baking trays, a small Bialetti type stoevetop espresso, and a few small cafetieres, if you'd like to buy your own ground coffee. Salt, pepper, canola oil, plastic wrap and aluminium foil are also supplied. Click here for a video of the kitchen.

Supermarkets are about 10-15min walk (2min drive) from us.

The kitchen is closed for cleaning from 11am - 12noon (ish) daily. This doesn't apply to full house private bookings. 

Heating & cooling

There are fans in each room for the warmer nights. Central heating throughout and extra oil heaters...and of course our fireplace in the main living room for cooler nights. We do not have air conditioning.

Payment & cancellation

Bookings made via our website are charged on booking. Refunds are made without delay as per policies below for hostel bookings. Full house private bookings have different cancellation policies. Please refer to our standard agreement downloadWe recommend you have travel insurance to cover unexpected circumstances. 

All bookings made within 48hrs & All Non-Refundable bookings: Non-refundable. However, if you have made a mistake, and cancel within 4hrs of booking, we will allow it to be refunded. Otherwise no changes or refund.

Full Rate:  You may change or cancel up to 48hrs prior (9am) to your stay.  After that time there will be no refund.
