Our Four Belief Pillars
Our Community includes our guests, our local community and our wider community. We believe in a think global, act local mentality. We believe in giving back. We have charity fundraising, on a honesty basis with our guests, as well as donating a percentage of our income to our chosen charities, including the local Rural Fire Service (RFS) and Rural Aid (Buy A Bale).
Environmental sustainability as individuals and as a business. We have invested in improvements at No.14 since 2017: LED lighting, supporting reduce/reuse/recycle with our interior fit out as much as possible, composting, recycling, choosing products made from recycled materials wherever possible, tank rainwater, 16.8kW solar electricity system. We are silver members of Low Carbon Living Blue Mountains, and also support the Blue Mountains World Heritage Institute as one of our charities.
In 2021 we are making further investments in more rainwater tanks to supply our toilets and washing machines.
Wellness incorporates physical and mental wellbeing. Most of our guests come to the beautiful Blue Mountains region to get out and enjoy the great outdoors (at least in part!). Rest and recharging are equally important - in whatever way is right for you.
We support Beyond Blue and Cancer Council as part of our charities.
We believe that it is essential for Australia to prioritise reconciliation with our First Nations people. We are relearning every day, and want to do whatever we can to be part of the solution.
We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the Blue Mountains, the Dharug and Gundungurra peoples.
We support the Uluru Statement from the Heart (and donate to them) and a constitutionally enshrined First Nations Voice.
